How it works

Follow these 3 simple steps to receive email summaries of your new blog posts

Post Published

This trigger monitors your WordPress site for new published posts and kicks off the entire workflow when fresh content goes live.
The trigger automatically checks your WordPress site every hour for newly published blog posts. When it detects a new post, it captures the full content including the title, body text, publication date, and author information. This data gets passed to the summarization step, so the AI has all the context it needs to create meaningful highlights. No configuration is needed - the trigger connects to your WordPress site and starts monitoring immediately after activation.

Summarize

This AI step transforms your full blog post content into digestible highlights that save your readers time while capturing the key insights.
The AI analyzes your complete blog post content and generates a concise summary highlighting the main points, key takeaways, and important details. The summarization automatically processes the raw HTML content from WordPress and creates clean, readable text perfect for email distribution. The AI maintains the context and tone of your original post while condensing it into the most valuable information. The generated summary gets formatted and passed directly to the email step.

Send Email

This action delivers the AI-generated summary to your specified recipient, completing the automated notification process for new content.
You'll configure three key fields: the recipient email address, email subject line, and message content. Enter your preferred email address in the "to" field - this could be your personal email, team distribution list, or newsletter subscribers. The default subject line reads "New Blog Summary Ready for [Post Title]" but you can customize this to match your communication style. The message field automatically includes the AI-generated summary, though you can add personal notes or formatting around it if desired.

Make it your own

Customize this workflow even further:

Add time delays for strategic timing
Include a Delay step between publishing and summarizing to let posts settle, or schedule summary emails to send during peak reading hours when your audience is most active.
Connect multiple communication channels
Expand beyond email by adding Slack notifications to update your team, Discord posts for community engagement, or SMS alerts for urgent content updates.
Store summaries in a content database
Save each summary to a Google Sheets spreadsheet or database table to build a searchable library of post highlights for content planning and performance tracking.
Deploy AI for content categorization
Add an AI step that analyzes post topics and automatically tags content by category, then route different types of posts to different email lists or team members.

Frequently asked questions

Will this work with draft posts or only published content?
The workflow only triggers on published posts, not drafts or scheduled content. This prevents premature summaries and makes sure only finalized content gets distributed to your email recipients.
Can I customize the AI summary style and length?
Currently the Summarize step uses default settings, but you can modify the message template in the Send Email step to add context like "Here's a quick summary:" or include specific instructions about how you want the content presented.
What happens if my WordPress site is temporarily down when the hourly check runs?
The workflow will skip that check and resume monitoring on the next hourly cycle. Once your site is back online, it will catch any posts published during the downtime and process them normally.
